Sangrose Laboratories was incorporated in the year 1987 as a private limited company. The chief mastermind behind the initiation of this venture is Mr. C.K.Alexander. He is having 30 yrs of experience in Pharmaceutical Industry with over 25 yrs. in the top management. His vast experience and the proactive approach triggered him to start a company like this.
Sangrose started production of Anti Leprosy Bulk Drug Clofazimine I.P/B.P in the year of 1989 with the initial capacity of one ton/annum. The company attained remarkable growth in the yester years and enhanced its production capacity to 14 tons per annum in 1994. The company commenced the soft gelatin encapsulation unit alongside, in the same year. The Company also initiated the formulation units for other dosage forms including Tablets, Hard Gelatin Capsules, Creams, Ointments and Liquid Orals. Currently the company has a full fledged API Manufacturing Unit for Clofazimine IP/BP/ Ph.Eur and has a well equipped Formulation Unit wherein over 300 different formulations are manufactured.

HISTORY
MR. C K ALEXANDER, an entrepreneur-research chemist, founded SANGROSE Laboratories in 1987. The DNA of the company is drawn from its founder and his vision to establish worlds only and largest producer of Clofazimine. In fact, it is this spirit of entrepreneurship that has shaped the company to become what it is today.
Mr. CK Alexander the founder and managing director was born and brought up in the traditions of Kerala. After acquiring his M Sc in chemistry he joined a pharmaceutical company and he started his career as a chemist. Sheer dint of hard work and determination enabled him to achieve the top management positions in various pharmaceutical majors.
After acquiring more than 30 years of experience his attachment to his motherland brought him back to his hometown to contribute towards the people of Kerala and its economy.
His vast experience, blended with entrepreneurial skill triggered him to start a company like this.
He started production of Clofazimine in the year 1989 with an initial capacity of one ton /annum. After that there was no looking back. The company attained enhanced production capacity up to 24 tons per annum. The company has been endowed with US FDA approval for manufacturing quality products.
The company ventured into the domain of formulation development in the year 1994. Though it started off at a low scale with just the Soft Gelatin Encapsulation Unit, it slowly bloomed to include various Formulation Units including Tablet, Hard Gelatin, Liquid Orals, Creams and Ointments.

The last 22 years for Sangrose has been an immensely gratifying experience. What started as a small unit, today Sangrose is a significant player in the Indian pharmaceutical industry. We have evolved as an organization whose strengths are its People, Processes and Customer Focus and we have established our leadership in the market by leveraging these strengths.

The Indian pharmaceutical industry is poised for exponential growth. Globalization has opened up new opportunities and India with its inherent strengths is set to be the biggest beneficiary.

Our company's ambitious plans for the future will be fuelled by a subsidiary named Sangrose Drug Chem Pvt. Ltd., which intends to manufacture Basic Drugs along with – Spreading the roots of Specialty marketing Division across the country, New product Launches, Entry of Products in Global Regulated Markets and Contract Manufacturing.

The company has set up modern manufacturing facilities conforming to international standards. This provides us exclusive production facilities for oral liquids, tablets/ capsules and topicals, apart from giving us the additional capacity to undertake contract manufacturing. These units are specifically built to international specifications and is able to handle export orders from the US and Europe in addition to our existing markets in Asia and Africa.

The Research & Development division has been established so as to attract partnerships from international pharmaceutical companies for contract research apart from addressing the in-house research initiatives.

Leveraging our innate strength along with the new initiatives, I am sure we will enable Sangrose laboratories to emerge as a global leader in the foreseeable future.

This commitment to the environment goes beyond statutory requirements for an important reason: at the company we have consistently believed that environment protection and enrichment are not just preferred responses because the ecological fabric of our world is now more fragile than ever, but because this is man's basic responsibility and its protection is the right way to do business.
A continuous monitoring system has been set up to ensure that no harm is done to the environment. Sangrose has created a green belt around the factory for total environmental protection

EFFLUENT TREATMENT
The environment is considered as God's gift, which should be preserved for the future generations. Our right is only to protect it, not to destroy it. In Sangrose, about 15% of its total capital outlay is utilized for environmental protection. A well defined treatment system has been established for the treatment of effluent generated from the manufacturing area. A continuously monitoring system has been set up to ensure that no harm is done to the environment. Other than daily internal monitoring, an external agency has been appointed for a monthly monitoring of the system. The Effluent Treatment Plant has a capacity to treat 6000 litres per day, both chemically & biologically. The treated water is used for the purpose of irrigation.

A subsidiary of Sangrose is on the pipeline named Sangrose Drug Chem Pvt. Ltd., which intends to manufacture Basic Drugs.

FACTORY LOCATION
Sangrose Laboratories is ideally located in the Kerala Government Industrial Estate at Kollakadavu, Alapuzha District. Since the Government started Industrial Estate with the intention of promoting small scale industries, all basic infrastructures were well provided by the concerned authorities. The Factory is well accessed by Air, Rail, Road and Marine Transports.
